My parents and my grandparents think its a pretty boy. One of the largest portraits I have ever done. 60" by 40" inch. Does it really look that Androgynous ? Maybe that's why I really like this painting.
Facial characteristics are that of a young, pubescent boy, but the delicateness of the hands lend the viewer (or this viewer in particular) to determine that this is an image of a female.
I airbrush. Can't handle oils for the life of me, but of I could, I'd want my stuff to look just like this, or Giancola's, or Watwood's, or Bower's, or Ryder's....etc
Wonderful art ! When up close, she is very feminine , but at first I thought she was a very sweet boy. It`s the hair - some woman looks very boyish with that hairdo. Your details, shadows and lights, it is all perfection !
First glance = male.
Further glances = female.
